Finding his way to his room, Keith lays on his bed, mind full of new realities, expectations, and the images of his team. Thoughts swirling, his eyes slip shut, falling into a deep slumber. He is dedicated to maintaining his abilities and spends his free time honing his combat skills. He is still learning, but he is an impressive and dangerous swordsman who should not be underestimated. He is also surprisingly strong despite his lean frame and his tendency to stress speed over strength in a fight. [break][break] PILOT PRODIGYKeith is a prodigy pilot who relies more on instinct and natural talent than on learned skill alone. He is a high speed combat specialist who fights at his maximum at all times. Keith's intense wrath allows him to bypass his normal limits and pull off amazing stunts with ease. That is what you have been most of your life. Faint memories of a father, an empty canvas over the face that would have been your mother. You couldn't stand the word they called you, even though it was true. Orphan. You never stayed in one place for too long, and never had the chance to form attachments or open up to those around you. That was, until you entered the Galaxy Garrison, until you met him. Your best friend, your rock, your older brother by the name of Takashi Shirogane. The friendship was easy, fast, and an unbreakable bond was formed. You excelled at the academy despite being a rebel and a loner, climbing to the number one spot of all the fighter pilots. You worked and trained constantly, earning that rank every step of the way.[break][break] The launch of the Kerboros Mission left you lonely, but you never faltered - that is, until the day it went missing. The day Shiro went missing. Your anger and rage consumed you, because no matter what your superiors said, there was no way Shiro would have crashed the vessel. It was in this fit of uncontrollable anger and wrath, trying to find out what happened no matter the cost, that you were expelled for disciplinary issues. Feeling lost, and nowhere else to go, you fled to the desert, to the small shack that you would call home for the next year.[break][break] It is here that your story really begins, and in your explorations you find cave drawings depicting a blue lion and an arrival that would be coming. That arrival came the following year, bringing with it Shiro's return, the realization that aliens were very real, and you found yourself whisked away with Hunk, Lance, Pidge, and Shiro. You learned about Voltron. You became the Red Paladin, bonding insepatately with the Red Lion.[break][break] DEFENDER OF THE UNIVERSEYou met Allura and Coran, and learned of Zarkon. Your team bonded, albeit reluctantly at first, and Lance made you his self-proclaimed rival though you never understood why. Even through that, the team grew close, going on missions, freeing planets from Zarkon's grip, rescuing the victims of his tyranny and onslaught. Through all obstacles, injuries, and feelings your new family persevered. You belonged. You finally had a family. And maybe yours feeling grew to more for a certain Blue Paladin day by day. [break][break] Along the way you discovered that your only coveted possession, a dagger from your father, led a clue to a hidden heritage you were not aware - a Galra heritage. You are only half human. It ate you up inside, consuming your thoughts and what the team would think. You underwent the trial of the Blade of Mamora, and came out stronger for it. The team accepted you, though Allura took the longest, and her hatred was biting. Still, it worked out, and to prove yourself you went on a dangerous suicide mission aboard a Galra ship. You came out alive. The final battle with Zarkon began, and Voltron emerged victorious.[break][break] ... it wasn't over. Shiro was mysteriously missing from the Black Lion and the group could no longer form Voltron. The Galra weren't defeated yet, and talk of finding a new Black Paladin began. You wouldn't hear of it, and you kept looking tirelessly in Red as far as you could. Shiro's words haunted you, his words of wanting to lead Voltron in his stead should anything ever happen to him. Then the day came where all of you tried to sit in the Black Lion. When it was your turn you prayed it would not happen - but it did. The Lion powered on for you, marking you the new Black Paladin and leader of the team. You refused to accept it until Lance comforted you, easing your mind a little and letting you know that they all still cared about Shiro. You took control of the Black Lion, with Lance now in Red as your right hand man.[break][break] You were not a good leader at first. Hot-headed and impulsive, you didn't lead properly, split the team up, tried to do things yourself instead of as a team. You led everyone into a deadly trap. You realized your mistake and faltered, going to Lance for help, and with him at your side, you fixed the mess you had caused together. It wasn't long after that you learned of Lotor, the group learning to work together and your leadership and confidence improving. Growing into something more than you thought you could be. And then you found Shiro and brought him back, though he was not quite the same, but you could never put your finger on it. It was after that you learned about the history of the lions and the paladins that came before you. It wouldn't be long until another confrontation with Lotor.[break][break] And that is how, after having gone to bed, that you awoke to sandy beaches, blue skies, and the hand of Lance shaking you awake as the ocean waves lapped at your feet. What in the quiznak was going on...?
